Don't waste your money on a brand video, you need to invest in the long-term
Time and time again, I see brands making the most brilliant videos and just plonk them on their website, maybe posting it on social media a few times. They’ll likely spend £10,000 in the process. Then, the marketing manager will wonder why they have not got any leads through the video. The next week, the CMO is on their back asking why they have spent £10,000 on a video to see no returns. The CMO and Marketing Manager sit down and have a meeting; they decide the best way forward is to create 3 case study videos with their favourite customers. The video production company go ‘thank you very much’ for the additional £10,000. Just to make sure this isn’t completely wasted, they put another £5,000 into paid media spend on Twitter and LinkedIn. Guess what? No leads.
This scenario happens way more often than you would think and if your businesses has been burnt by this, then I want to talk to you about why I think we can help.
Firstly, this is a long-term investment and you’ll need to fully embrace video for this to work. It takes time to build out all the relevant video content and systems to deliver the right videos at the right time, to the best audience. However, once everything is in place and working you won’t be able to stop using video marketing as you see your leads flow in.
Once you’re bought into our video marketing process, we need to start making some content for you. So we don’t rush into something you don’t like we’ll run a couple of workshops with your team so we know what sort of content you currently have and the pain points your customers feel. Then it’s down to us to take that information and suggest a video strategy for your business.
Then we move to production, where we start to make some awesome videos. We’ll usually do production every 2-3 months depending on the type of content we have discussed. Production is the easy bit because then it is down to post-production and distribution. This is where we take all that lovely content and cut it down into all shapes and sizes to work on the necessary platforms. 16:9 longer-form content for YouTube, cut down into bitesize chunks for Twitter and LinkedIn, and then prepared for Instagram and Stories. Referring back to our strategy we’ll start to roll out the content on the platforms and building out your automation machine.
